So it gives permission to its believers to go to perform Umrah even in debt. However, the case is different in Hajj and Umrah. Muslims can perform Umrah in debt but cannot perform Hajj in debt. The reason is that Hajj is an obligatory ritual and is mandatory once in a lifetime who is financially and physically capable to afford it. It is one of the five pillars of Islam and is the source of the cleansing of the soul. Umrah is non- obligatory and can perform at any time throughout the year when a person wants. Hajj is the great virtual ritual and is also a great responsibility so it cannot be delivered by taking loans and debt. However, Umrah can be performed while in debt because it is non- mandatory ritual.
